When does a baby need a jumpsuit?

As soon as the temperature outside drops below about 15 degrees and the baby is not in a footmuff: when being carried, in your arms, in the car seat on the way to the car, or during a walk in a baby carrier. A baby jumpsuit for winter replaces a jacket and pants, does not slip, and leaves no cold spots on the back. In the stroller, it complements the footmuff on very cold days; in the car, because of the seat belts, it should only be placed over the straps, not underneath them.

The corduroy jumpsuit (€62.99) is made of soft, tightly woven corduroy, the hood is lined with micro-fleece, and the fold-over cuffs on the sleeves and legs can be pulled over hands and feet so that mittens and socks don't get lost. It comes in five colors, from Eucalyptus to Sahara and Siena to Light Grey and Steel, and matches our footmuffs and bodysuits. A bodysuit and sleepsuit underneath are sufficient; lambskin booties fit well on the feet. The zipper runs down the front so you can lay the baby in while lying down without having to pull it over their head.

Which size for the baby jumpsuit?

The corduroy jumpsuit is available in size 62/68, which corresponds to roughly the second to sixth month of life. For a winter baby born in the fall, this is the size for the first winter. For older children who are already walking, the Oskar footmuff or a sleeping bag with feet is the better choice for outdoors. The jumpsuit is washable at 30 degrees; corduroy becomes softer with every wash and does not lose its shape. When the child has outgrown size 62/68, the footmuff takes over in the stroller, and at home, a bodysuit is enough. Can the baby sit in the car seat wearing a jumpsuit?

Thick clothing should not be worn under the seat belt. Place the jumpsuit over the baby after buckling them in or use a footmuff for the infant carrier.

Which size fits a newborn?

The corduroy jumpsuit starts at size 62/68, which is from about the second month. For the first few weeks, a small footmuff for the infant carrier is suitable.
