What our customers say
What should baby booties be able to do?
Provide warmth, breathe, and not constrict. Baby feet grow quickly, are soft, and do not need a firm sole until the child can walk securely; pediatricians and orthopedists even advise against it. Baby booties are therefore socks with added value: they keep feet warm in a footmuff, in a baby carrier, and on cold floors, allow the toes to move, and stay on the foot without tying. As manufacturers of footmuffs, we know where baby feet get cold in winter, and we design our booties accordingly.
Lambskin booties for babies: warm without sweating
Lambskin can do both: provide warmth and wick away moisture. Cold feet make the whole child restless, and sweaty feet in synthetic fibers are just as uncomfortable. Lambskin booties for babies absorb moisture and release it to the outside; the feet remain dry and warm. Our lambskin booties (19.99€) are made of genuine lambskin, are soft and supple, and do not have a hard sole, so they do not press in a footmuff or baby wrap. Their Creamy Caramel color matches our lambskin footmuffs and the lambskin liner.
Crawling shoes, pre-walkers, slippers: which size when?
Size 16/17 fits from about the sixth month, when crawling begins; 18/19 from about the tenth month for the first attempts at standing; 20/21 from about the fifteenth month as slippers for those first steps. With a soft sole, the feet can feel the ground and roll naturally, which is more important for learning to walk than support. Our tip: choose one size larger, then a thick sock will fit underneath and the shoe will last longer. Baby booties with a soft sole are not intended for use outdoors on wet paths; there, they belong inside a footmuff or under an overall.
Care
Lambskin ventilates itself; for stains, a damp cloth is sufficient; wash only when necessary in cold water with wool detergent and dry in shape. As a gift for a birth, booties in size 18/19 are the safe choice: they fit when crawling begins. Orders leave our warehouse in 2 to 4 working days; shipping within Germany is free for orders over 100€.
Frequently asked questions
When does a baby need shoes?
Firm shoes only when the child is walking securely outside. Before that, soft-soled booties that provide warmth and leave the toes free are sufficient.
Which size fits my baby?
16/17 from about the sixth month, 18/19 from about the tenth, 20/21 from about the fifteenth. When in doubt, choose the larger size and wear a sock underneath.
Can you wash lambskin booties?
Ventilating and wiping with a damp cloth is usually enough. If necessary, wash cold by hand with wool detergent and dry in shape; do not place on a heater.
Are the booties suitable for walking outside?
No. They have a soft sole and are intended for use in footmuffs, baby carriers, strollers, and at home.
